Tonight Freya fought her sleep, so while her being overtired and being just a grump I thought why not add my tips of how to get Freya to sleep, I've learned the hard way to try and get Freya to sleep but these tips definitely work for us!
Sooth - set up a soothing routine. Bath, read a book or just talk to your baby. I find these help settle Freya, just with a soothing voice reading a bath or playing around in the bath helps tire her out
Feed - having a full tummy helps your baby get sleepy but make sure to still burp your baby. This works wonders with Freya the more full her tummy, the more tired she gets.
Change Nappy - this is a must. It won't be nice to go to bed with a wet or dirty nappy. Make your baby feel clean and comfortable
Keep Lighting Down! I try to make it quite dark, sometimes this is quite hard but it helps settle them to make them think it's bed time
Stay calm. A baby feels when you are frustrated so staying calm is another must even if it does get hard when they don't calm down
Be consistent. If you change your routine it could put your baby out of joint. Try to keep their routine as consistent as possible - it isn't always easy but try.
Make sure you and your partner are on the same page with your routines. If you both don't agree with it, sit and talk about it to which works for both of you

These are my main tips for getting your baby to sleep, these work wonders for Freya and we try to keep her in a secure routine throughout her night sleep. Sometimes we break our own tips and keep her up and the day after we completely regret it as it puts her routine to shit! Let's be honest, routine is the way forward for babies.
Hopefully these tips help you as much as they've helped me! HAPPY ROUTINE!
